This week on Sailing Nandji, heading back to sea after a lovely quick stop off at the Komodo Islands, we continue sailing into the sunset heading West towards the island of Lombok. Cruising past the island of Sumbawa, we have engine issues and discussing the great places on the island, decide to make a detour and explore for a few waves. Having a quick surf at Scar reef, we return to the sea crossing the Alas Strait between Sumbawa and Lombok. We have 100nm to travel to reach the destination where we plan to collect our new crew member. Off the coast of Lombok, things take a turn for the worse losing our engine. How do we get out of this one!
We decide to take on a crew member to assist us in the journey up to Malaysia to reach our new motor. Whilst all the troubles were going down, Jess was on her way to Nandji needing to catch 2 planes, 2 boats and then find us...
