In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we maybe stuck, but we can still explore! Just because we are not able to continue sailing around the world, does not mean we cannot keep exploring where we are. Boat life to us, is more than just sailing. We enjoy being anchored away from everyone and everything and enjoying the nature around us. A major reason we love living on Nandji is to live closer to nature and immerse ourselves amongst the elements. It's the little things in life that are the most rewarding. A simple bow shower under the rain makes all the difference.
In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we have a slow morning wake up after dealing with our biggest storms this wet season. Rolly anchorages are the worst, so we decide to head over to calmer waters where we let you all know of what is going on in the world of Nandji! We have some massive news!!! Being stuck in this beautiful location has been hard at times but we are lucky to be somewhere safe and friendly. Over the last few months, we have had time to reflect on our journey thus far and it has been a great time to remember the places we have visited and the people we have met along the way.
In this episode of Sailing Nandji, in this current crazy world we live in we feel you need to make the most of when an opportunity arises. We are not able to sail across oceans due to the covid restrictions, but we can still go sailing! We woke up to a great wind and blue skies, a rare occasion in Langkawi during the wet season. What better time then to go have some fun. Winds up! Sails up! Let's go sailing, Destination, NO WHERE! The swell free waters of Langkawi, Malaysia is great fun to play in with the wind up. We tack our way down the straight and are met with another vessel who lays down the challenge to Nandji. Time to test out our racing skills!
In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we had been anchored away from everyone and everything for 2 months waiting for the world to get back to normal. We are unsure of what will happen next and what we will be required of us to do, potentially leave... As the world is changing so much we decide it is time that we need to be 100% self sufficient, which requires installing a water-maker. We had been getting very creative in our water collecting techniques recently, but with the potential that we could be asked to leave or just in case the zombies start roaming, we are ready to sail off into the distance to live out our days. After 4 years of bathing and washing in saltwater, it is time to shed the salty crust and have a fresh water shower! We install the Rainman naked 12V system, which can make up to 70 litres per hour and runs entirely from our Solar set up. Which means we make water from the SUN! Now that is self sufficient!!
